    While at GGC you will have the opportunity to meet volunteers from different regions, share experiences, develop friendships, and learn together and from each other in a comfortable setting away from the distractions of our everyday lives.

    Golden Gate Camp offers a variety of full weekend courses.

    OUR INSTRUCTORS:

    Golden Gate Camp brings in the top instructors in each of their disciplines. All of our instructors are seasoned volunteers and experienced in their roles. Many of them have instructed at the National level and at Expos, providing top notch instruction to all attendees.

    WHY CHOOSE GOLDEN GATE CAMP?

    Golden Gate Camp is a fully immersive training environment that provides extended class times for a deeper understanding of each topic and community building with other AYSO volunteers to share and learn from one another. Our program offers the option for lodging and meals for a full weekend of exceptional training.

    Golden Gate Camp is located in the heart of the Bay Area, at Menlo College in Atherton, CA.

    Weekend classes include dorm stay and all meals. If you are staying in the dorms please bring cash/check for your dorm key deposit of $50. When you return your key your deposit will be returned to you.  If you decide not to stay in the Menlo College dorms the weekend camp price does not change.

    ADVANCED COACH

    AYSO Advanced coaches (16U and up) must know how to OBSERVE and EVALUATE any training session, game or activity in order to determine how to improve player performance.

    Pre-Requisites (REQUIRED)

    • -12U Coach course certification

    • -14U Coach (Intermediate) course certification

    • -AYSO Summary of the Laws of the Game (done online on AYSOU)

    • -Advanced Coach pre-course work (done online on AYSOU)

    • -Required Match Analysis submitted to the instructor/s before course start.

    • -Required Training Plan submitted to the instructor/s before course start.

    • -Reflection 1 assignment completed before course start.

    Advanced Coach Candidates will participate in a match vs the Intermediate Coach Candidates on Sunday following the Goalkeeper Certification.

    This course is Friday - Sunday with dorm lodging and meals provided. Please bring a key deposit of $50 (cash/check) that will be returned to you when you return your room key.

    INTERMEDIATE COACH
     

    As an Intermediate Coach (14U), we will strive to educate players on how to read the game by going deeper into the Principles of Play and Phases of Play in our training and playing environments and focus on functional groups within a full team system We will review numerous formations and discuss strengths, weakness and tactics to play against.

    Pre-Requisites (REQUIRED)

    • -12U Coach course certification

    • -AYSO Summary of the Laws of the Game (done online on AYSOU)

    • -14U Intermediate pre-course work (done online on AYSOU)

    Learn effective ways to technically "polish" the mechanics for your soccer players. Discover periodization and how it affects your team, both short term and long term and also learn to better use the "Coaching Cycle" to maximize your team's potential at training sessions and determine exactly where the game time breakdowns are.

    Pre Course Requirements:

    • Currently registered, and cleared, as a volunteer for the membership year

    • Complete 10U Coach course certification

    • Complete pre-course work prior to class start

    RC TRAINING
     
     
    Part 1 – RC/AD Training Online Pre-Course – available on AYSOU under ONLINE COURSES/MANAGEMENT COURSES. This Pre-Course contains a review of key information and material that will be used in the Live Virtual Sessions. The course includes pre-work assignments for the Live Sessions which will confirm and finalize your completed RC Training certification. You may take this course at any time; however, it must be concluded prior to signing up for the Live Sessions. Another prerequisite is the Online Dispute Resolution/Due Process/Potential Threat review.
     
    Part 2 – A Live, in-person Session – The full in-person sessions confirm certification for Regional Commissioners. Modules explore creating the AYSO Experience that best matches the local community, marketing AYSO’s values and programs, creating the AYSO volunteer culture and setting goals for the RC executive member term. The role of a fiduciary and the principles of Dispute Resolution and Due Process are also reviewed.

    The purpose of this course is to train Advance Referee candidates in all aspects of refereeing to develop skills that will allow the referee to officiate most AYSO soccer matches under the AYSO (IFAB) Laws and AYSO National Rules and Regulations.
    Prerequisites: Completion of the Intermediate Referee Certification, currently registered AYSO volunteer, all required trainings (Safe Haven, CDC Concussion, Safe Sport, etc.) completed
